Kaj wanted to become a veterinarian from a young age. That life can go completely different, he realized after his military service examination; he was asked if he wanted to become a fighter pilot.
After a career of 12 years as a fighter pilot he became a pilot at Martinair and worked there for 21 years, most recently as a captain MD-11. He has always been interested in effective communication and interpersonal relations: 'key elements' in (military) aviation.
He is convinced that by recognizing communication processes, the working environment can be safer and more efficient, especially in situations of stress and/or crisis.
