Stepping into the role of captain requires not only extensive operational knowledge and flying skills, but above all strong leadership, situational awareness, and a deep understanding of human behaviour in complex environments. This course is designed to support you in that transition and to prepare you for the full responsibility that comes with the commander’s position.

During this course, we delve into the core themes that form the foundation of effective and safe command. You will develop skills in decision-making, risk management, Just Culture, Threat and Error Management, automation management, and Human Performance. In addition, we place strong emphasis on leadership and group dynamics, guiding teamwork in the cockpit and the wider operation, and supporting and motivating the crew under varying circumstances.
The role of commander is not only about making decisions, but also about creating a professional, open, and safe working environment in which everyone can contribute effectively.
Therefore, we devote considerable attention to communication, coaching, conflict management, and the effective management of cabin crew, ground staff, and other operational partners.
The Command Course offers a combination of theoretical sessions, practical scenarios, interactive discussions, and reflection on your own leadership style. The aim is to strengthen you in your role as leader, mentor, and the person with ultimate responsibility for every flight.
