Leadership & Cultural Differences (1 day)
Leadership, Group Dynamics and Culture
The Human Factor is becoming increasingly important in complex daily life and in managing (crisis) situations. For leadership to be effective, you must have knowledge of group dynamics and have style flexibility, both in normal and abnormal or even emergency situations. This module provides insight into this subject in the field of operations, training and safety. We will provide knowledge about style flexibility, dominant and non-assertive behavior and hierarchy gradients. Airlines recruit pilots from all over the world, regardless of nationality or culture. If the license is accepted by EASA or the local CAA and the assessment has gone well, he or she will be trainable within that company to the safe standard. CRM is a poor export product because of the cultural differences. This is important for education, training and examination. There is no standard teaching method that is effective for all cultures. In this module we look at differences in national culture, what influence this has on the company culture and how the safety culture can be optimized. We will provide knowledge and insights to deal with this flexibly as a CRM instructor. This information can also be valuable for colleagues TRI/TRE and the organisation management.
